FORM!

This was project 2b.
I had to find seven identical objects, and then I was asked to apply a transformation of form to each object from these given words:
  • A subtractive transformation
  • An additive transformation
  • A asymmetrical transformation
  • An asymmetrical transformation
  • Distortion
  • Abstraction
  • Fragmentation
So. If you haven't thought about those 7 words, well yes they are very challenging! I found it most difficult understanding the difference between asymmetrical and symmetrical. In the end though I did my home work LOL  and came up with this, (do you think I matched the words and the transformation good, leave your comment!! :)

First of All my seven objects were qtips!

1.A Subtractive transformation

2.An additive transformation

3.A symmetrical transformation

4.A asymmetrical transformation

5.Distortion

6.Abstraction

7.Fragmentation

My chosen mentor Herbert Dreiseitl Project 2a 15/2/13

Our next project was very interesting. We chose either a Landscape Architect, or Designer which we would then research everything about them. Not just where they were born , or how old they are, but much more interesting we had to research their philosophy, how they work, what kind of mythology they work with, how they approach their projects ,and overall how they are influenced. My chosen Landscape Architect was Herbert Dreiseitl. The research I did for him was surely not enough. There is soooooo much about him,hes just an incredible guy. In simple words he specializes in Water-scapes,Water structures,Urban hydrology, and he plays a very very important role in the environment .I realted alot to him because my first project I did      in Greenhithe I was always thinking about creating something that would work well and help the enviroment. Look into ANY of his projects and you will discover how he cares alot about the environment .He doesn't just place something or do something in a project because it looks good , but he cares about the world and about peoples emotions, so everything he does is basically FUN, VIBRANT, AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY!!!
( about.http://www.landezine.com/index.php/2012/06/kallang-river-at-bishan-ang-mo-kio-park-by-atelier-dreiseitl/)

Bishan Park was my chosen project of Herbert Dreiseitl to talk about!!Through the park their was a canal which through it ran the famous Kallang River in Singapore. The entire river runs at 10kl but through the old park the canal ran only at 3kl. (picture: Before the redesign of Bishan Park)

The park was redesigned by Herbert Dreiseitl foundation founded inn 1980, Atelier Dreiseitl. They basically transformed a boring canal into a beautiful, peaceful  fun river where people can actually explore the area and have fun with their family. In the end the project  was a  success story. It was a success for everyone especially the environment ever since the transformation has been done people have spotted animals which had dispersal from Singapore but had come back to this wonderful new and healthy environment!!

Walking the Line South, Linear Map Experience Project 1 8/2/13

On the 25 of January we(Site Design Class) took a walk from Chalk Farm Station to St. James Park. It was an amazing experience  I got to see and explore London in a completely different way. I really enjoyed the view from Primrose Hill and it will defiantly be a place I will visit again. The view is unbelievable  you see the city of London in a completely different perspective. Overall I learned allot during the walk I just wish it wasn't as cold because it stopped me from taking my hands out of my warm pockets :)haha

So For Project 1 we had to draw a map at a scale of 1:5000 and sketch, collage, paint, the whole experience. I enjoyed the project alot but I hope I never have to draw a map again it took me forever!!
